1.7 million hectares were sown with winter wheat in Ukraine

Agricultural producers in all regions of Ukraine are sowing winter crops. As of the beginning of October, 2.99 million hectares have already been sown, of which 1.9 million hectares are grain crops. Kurkul.com writes about this with reference to data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

So, as of October 3, sown:

rapeseed — 1,087,000 ha (89% to the forecast);

wheat — 1743 thousand ha (40%);

barley — 109,000 ha (15%);

rye — 53.6 thousand ha (66%).

During the previous week, 764.7 thousand hectares of winter cereals and 49 thousand hectares of winter rapeseed were sown.

Sowing of winter rape is completed in all regions.

According to the data of the "Sowing online 2023/24" map, farmers of Sumy Oblast sowed the most winter cereals - 87% ahead of the forecast.

The largest amount of winter wheat was sown in Dnipro Oblast (206.8 thousand ha), Poltava Oblast (164.7 thousand ha) and Kirovohrad Oblast (162 thousand ha). Sumyshchyna (87% of the area before the forecast) and Volyn (80%) are leading the wheat sowing rate.

At the same time, due to the lack of moisture, almost no wheat was sown in the southern regions:

Odesa — 8%;

Mykolayiv Oblast — 12%;

Kherson Oblast — 13%.
