By the end of July, the price of diesel fuel will increase by UAH 5/l — forecast

Yuliya Svyridenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, predicts that the retail price of diesel fuel will increase by UAH 5/l during the month, and that of gasoline by UAH 7-8/l.
"We see and forecast together with gas station operators that by the end of July the increase will be UAH 5 for diesel and UAH 7-8 for gasoline," she said.
Yuliya Svyridenko clarified that arithmetically, the return to the pre-war level of excise duties on motor fuel and the increase in VAT on it can lead to an increase in the price of fuel oil by up to UAH 8/liter, and gasoline — up to UAH 11/liter. At the same time, accumulated fuel reserves and the absence of shortages should not lead to a sharp increase in prices.
"We see that there will be no sharp price increase. There are several factors: there is no shortage, there are reserves, the market in Europe is flooded with resources, so there will be no sharp jumps. Much, of course, depends on the price situation in the world, but today we do not expect sharp fluctuations," she added.
According to Kurkul.com, based on data from the monitoring of the retail market of the "A-95" Consulting Group, from the end of June to July 4, the average price for DP in Ukraine increased from UAH 43.4/l to UAH 46.15/l. As in the previous month, the highest price was fixed in Donetsk region — 49.41 UAH/l, the lowest in Transcarpathia — 45.17 UAH/l.
During the reporting period, the price of diesel fuel increased the most in Zaporizhzhia — by almost UAH 4/l.
