FARMERS CRITICALLY DO NOT HAVE TIME TO MARKET PRODUCTS

Due to complex and long logistics, farmers do not have time to sell the crop and buy everything necessary for sowing - fuel, lubricants, mineral fertilizers and other resources. There is no time, because some works cannot be postponed to a later date. This was announced by the head and founder of Andriivka PE (Kharkiv region) Mykola Pyvovar during the press conference "Sowing-2023 under threat of failure", writes agronews.ua.
"Today we have problems with receiving and transporting grain, we were not prepared to sell agricultural products over such a distance. Usually, we delivered grain to elevators located nearby within 100-150 km. And now they are forced to transport grain 1,000 km away," states Mykola Pivovar.
According to him, transportation of products by "Ukrzaliznytsia" is not always appropriate and profitable for the company, therefore, vehicles are mainly used. At the same time, the "Kharkiv-Izmail" shoulder is 1,000 km in one direction. That is, the car is on the road for at least 4 days, if there are no queues.
"Currently, about 40% of the products remain unsold in our economy. If we take winter wheat, about 15% of the harvested crop of 2022 has been sold, sunflower - 50%, corn was harvested at the end of February and only started to be finished for sale," notes Mykola Pivovar.
