Across Ukraine, agronomist-consultants are noting the infection of fruit orchards with scab, powdery mildew, moniliosis, and other diseases. Therefore, it is important to ensure fungicidal protection of plants.
This was reported by experts from the company Ukravit.
"Each season, pome crops suffer significantly from scab and powdery mildew, while stone fruits are affected by moniliosis, clasterosporiosis, coccomycosis, and other diseases. In cases of severe scab infection, yield losses can reach up to 70%, moniliosis can cause losses ranging from 5% to 80%, depending on the crop, and clasterosporiosis can result in 60-70% yield loss. These and other diseases also impact the quality and market appearance of the fruits. Therefore, today, when our agronomist-consultants across Ukraine are observing infections in fruit orchards with the aforementioned diseases, albeit to a minor extent, it is crucial to ensure their fungicidal protection," noted Vyacheslav Polishchuk, the head of the horticultural department at Ukravit.
To control a complex of fruit diseases, the expert recommends using Delavit (dithianon, 350 g/l). The fungicide affects enzymes with thiol groups involved in the cellular respiration of fungi. Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting the development of disease-causing spores on the surface of leaves and fruits.
