In Ukraine, the volume of rapeseed processing increased by a third

The oil industry is the only one in Ukraine that was able to surpass its own achievements in the production and export of processing products. In addition, despite the financial situation, shelling and other problems, the country is increasing its oil processing capacity.
The general director of the Ukroliyaprom Association, Stepan Kapshuk, told about this in the special project "Record volumes of processing and export - current realities of the Ukrainian oil market".
In particular, the expert noted another feature of the current season — the volume of rapeseed processing in the country has increased.
"This is the uniqueness of the current season. If only 175,000 tons were processed last year, this year's 600,000 tons is not the final figure. The margin of rapeseed processing is good. Now rapeseed prices have fallen, which is, of course, a problem. But this is a situational moment, you just have to survive it, prices will not be as low as they are now," he believes.
So, according to the expert, in Ukraine it is necessary to make money from oil processing, and Ukraine has all the necessary data for this.
According to him, the most important thing for the industry at the moment is logistics. After all, 97% of the export of oil and fat products are large ports.
"And no matter how hard we try, we won't be able to get anything through the western borders, by rail, by transshipment. I'll be honest with you," Stepan Kapshuk stated.
Logistical difficulties mostly affect sunflower processing - soybean oil and soybean meal are not transported by sea. Poland buys them from us, this country accounts for 65% of the export of such products, and Ukraine also has an excellent base for soybean processing. Stepan Kapshuk says that he has a dream — that rapeseed processing into biodiesel will be established in the country. And then all three main oil crops will bring money to the country for the added value of products.
