It became known whether the transit of Ukrainian grains through Poland will improve

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food hopes to compensate for the suspension of grain exports to Poland by increasing its transit under new rules that will be agreed upon in the coming week. This was stated by the head of the department Mykola Solskyi on the telethon "Edyny Novyni", reports Rail.insider, writes agronews.ua.
"The transit of Ukrainian grain through the territory of Poland should not be affected. On the contrary, it will get better dynamics. Queues should decrease. Among the solutions that are currently being discussed, first of all, the issue of improving transit procedures, the absence of delays for cars and rail transport going to Polish ports or to other countries, including the EU," said the official.
He expressed his hope that the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products will not be checked according to the methodology currently practiced in Europe, and instead of samples of grain and other products "from every car, from every wagon", the inspection of such cargoes will be carried out only on a documentary basis.
"Cars will not stand in queues for a week or a half and wagons will not stand still, as is happening now," the minister expressed hope.
Mykola Solsky emphasized that Ukraine exported not only grain but also other agricultural products to Poland.
"We see the potential for the same Poland, taking into account the new rules, to make up volumes due to transit. The main thing is that it is clear and understandable. Given the various problems, the Poles are ready to delve into the details. Within a week, we will model them, fix them, and they will work," the head of the department promised.
According to Mykola Solskyi, business should understand the difficulties that will be observed during this week. During this period, the authorities intend to coordinate technical issues with business, agricultural carriers working with the transit market, as well as conduct working negotiations with the Polish side. On Friday, negotiations are planned at the Polish border, after which it is expected that new rules will be fixed, which will "give new dynamics to exports."
The minister reminded that Poland had the most acute situation regarding the export of Ukrainian agricultural products from all European countries with which Ukraine shares a common border.
"A significant part did not transit, but remained in this country. It's true," Solsky admitted.
He confirmed that Ukraine has significantly increased its exports to European countries, with which it constantly communicates informally. At the same time, according to the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the Ukrainian authorities monitor the situation at the borders every day and, if necessary, are ready for negotiations with representatives of other countries.
We will remind that in February, due to the suspension of the procedure of simplified veterinary control in Poland, the transfer of wagons with grain at the border became significantly more difficult. Subsequently, the passage of veterinary control was simplified, but only for the transit transportation of Ukrainian grains through Poland. Subsequently, the Polish government planned to limit the import of Ukrainian grain into the country. But on April 5, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that during a meeting with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, they found a solution to the problem of exporting Ukrainian grain to Poland. And on April 6, it became known that Ukrainian grain will be transported in transit through Poland without unloading. In addition, Ukraine and Poland are currently developing new rules for the transit of agricultural crops. At the same time, Ukraine will temporarily suspend grain exports to Poland.
