Negotiations on the grain agreement have reached a dead end

The next session of negotiations regarding the issue of the humanitarian corridor for the implementation of the "grain agreement", which took place on May 5, reached an impasse. The Guardian writes about it.
The reason for the lack of a decision is the new conditions regarding ships that are allowed to export Ukrainian grain. Therefore, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the UN failed to extend the operation of the humanitarian corridor within the framework of the "Black Sea grain initiative".
According to Deputy UN Spokesman Farhan Haq, regular daily inspections of previously authorized ships will be carried out until May 18, when the current agreement expires.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu announced that on May 10 he has a working trip to Moscow, where he will meet with Lavrov. Officials will discuss the continuation of the "grain corridor".
It will be recalled that the press secretary of the President of Turkey, Ibrahim Kalin, said that if Ukraine and the Russian Federation do not reach an agreement on the grain agreement during the negotiations in Istanbul, the "grain corridor" may cease to exist.
Earlier, the Russian Federation threatened to withdraw from the "grain agreement" if the countries of the "Big Seven" (G7) ban the export of goods to the country. Subsequently, Russia announced the suspension of the grain agreement due to the recent attack by surface drones of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.
Also, on April 20, Russia sent a letter to the SCC of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, in which it warned that the registration of vessels will last only until May 18. It is until this day, as Russia believes, that the "grain agreement" was extended. Although on March 18, the official extension of the "grain initiative" for 120 days was announced.
