So that diseases do not interfere with a successful start: we choose a poisoner for grain crops

Despite the war and the difficult situation in a number of regions, the spring sowing campaign in Ukraine has started: farmers in Odesa and other southern regions have started sowing peas and spring barley. In order for vigorous cereals to reveal their genetic potential of high productivity, specialists of the Ukravit company, the manufacturer of the original PPE, urge farmers to take care of their reliable protection. And special attention is recommended to protect seeds from diseases.
"Insufficiently effective protection of the seed material of cereal grain crops from a complex of diseases can cause significant shortages of the future harvest," says the head of the agronomic department of the company Oleksandr Myglovets. - After all, according to Ukravit Institute research conducted in 2022, 7% of cereal seeds were affected by various types of soot, 67% of the tested samples contained pathogens of Alternaria spp., 31% - pathogens of Fusarium spp. and about 17% of samples were affected by Septoria spp. 27% of the samples contained pathogens that cause seed mold, and 8% - bacteriosis. If we compare these data with the indicators for the first months of 2023, the percentage of cereal seeds affected by these dangerous diseases has increased. For example, infection with powdery mildew increased by 1%, Alternaria – by 4%, Fusarium – by 8%, Septoriosis – by 2%, Bacteriosis – by 5%, pathogens that cause mold – by 6%. Therefore, to take care of fungicidal protection of grain ear crops on the eve of the sowing campaign means to protect young plants from a complex of dangers, and therefore to avoid significant losses of future yields.
In order to protect grain ears at the early stages of growth and development from powdery mildew and a complex of other harmful diseases, Oleksandr recommends using the development of the manufacturer of the first Ukrainian originals - the three-component poisoner Lyvit (proteoconazole, 50 g/l + difenoconazole, 50 g/l + pyraclostrobin, 25 g/ l). Prothioconazole in its composition is a systemic active substance that has protective, curative and eradicating properties and controls diseases caused by pathogens from the classes of Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes and Deuteromycetes. It blocks the synthesis of ergosterol, which leads to morphological and functional changes in the cell wall of pathogens. Difenoconazole has a systemic effect and disrupts the dimethylation process during the synthesis of ergosterol, which is necessary for the construction of cell walls of fungi, which leads to the cessation of mycelial growth and the death of pathogens. Pyraclostrobin is a local-systemic fungicide with translaminar properties that blocks the pathogen's respiration and its ability to produce energy and leads to disruption of important biochemical processes in the organism of the pathogen, as a result of which spore germination stops.
Due to the combination of active substances, Livevit provides effective and long-term control of seed, soil and aerial infection. It solves the problem of seed powdery mildew diseases (including dwarf powdery mildew), which are the cause of the appearance of uneven, weakened seedlings, and in the future - cause problems with the development of cereals. In the initial phases of growth, the drug also reliably controls septoriosis, seed mold, root and root rot, and other diseases.
It is important that the poison does not have a phytotoxic effect on seedlings and does not show a retardation effect, which is relevant for crops of the middle and late sowing periods. In addition, due to pyraclostrobin, young plants are formed healthy, resistant to various types of stress, with a powerful root system, thanks to which they better consume elements of mineral nutrition and moisture and develop better.
