Soybean harvest in the 2024 season may increase to 5.5 million tons — forecast
The potential harvest of grain and oilseeds in the 2024 season may amount to 76.1 million tons, which is 3 million tons lower than in 2023. This forecast was published by the Ukrainian Grain Association (UZA).
In particular, 23.4 million tons of oil can be collected this year.
The sunflower harvest in 2024 can be expected at the level of 13.7 million tons (in 2023 — 14.2 million tons). The potential export can be up to 250 thousand tons (in the current season, 0.4 million tons are expected), while the processing of sunflower for oil can reach almost 13.6 million tons. This season - 13.5 million tons.
In 2024, the rapeseed harvest can be expected at the level of 4.2 million tons (in 2023, a little more than 4.3 million tons), while the export of 2024/2025 MR can be the same as in the current season — 3.6 million tons.
"As for soybeans, this is almost the only crop under which farmers can increase the area due to its profitability this year. Soybean harvest can be expected in 2024 at the level of 5.5 million tons (4.9 million tons in 2023). The potential export in 2024/2025 MR may reach 4 million tons (in the current season, it is expected at the level of 3.3 million tons)," UZA said.
