Spring sowing in Khmelnytskyi is planned to begin in the third decade of March

Farmers of Khmelnytskyi region plan to start sowing company 2023 in the third decade of March. This was reported by the press service of Khmelnytskyi OVA.
In total, it is planned to sow over 850,000 hectares of spring crops, including 300,000 hectares of spring cereals, over 440,000 hectares of technical crops, and 110,000 hectares of potatoes, vegetables and fodder crops.
As noted in the department, among the main agricultural crops that will be grown in the fields of the region: wheat, barley, corn, sugar beet, rapeseed, soy and sunflower.
"With the onset of favorable weather conditions, farmers began preparing the soil for sowing spring crops and one of the most important agricultural measures - the first fertilizing of winter crops, which has already been carried out on half of the sown areas. Work continues. In addition, the agricultural enterprises of the region continue to purchase material and technical resources, complete the repair of tillage and sowing equipment," the message reads.
According to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture, as of March 9, the area of sowing of the main spring crops for the 2023 harvest in the territory controlled by Ukraine is 5,700.1 thousand hectares, which is 206.5 thousand hectares less than last year.
As of the reporting date, only the farmers of Odesa region have started sowing spring crops. Thus, 16,100 hectares of grain and leguminous crops were sown by all categories of farms in Odesa, including 6,700 hectares of spring wheat, 5,900 hectares of spring barley and 3,500 hectares of peas.
