Sunflower sowing has started in Ukraine

Twenty oblasts have started sowing spring crops. In addition, sunflower sowing has begun in the Kyiv region. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy

As of March 21, 214.5 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops were sown in Ukraine (3.8%). Of them:

wheat — 29 thousand ha (11.8%);

barley — 117.3 thousand hectares (14.3%);

peas — 53.1 thousand hectares (33.2%);

oats — 10.6 thousand hectares (6.5%).

Farmers sowed the most:

Odeshchyna (56.7 thousand hectares) — 2.8 thousand hectares of wheat, 28.2 thousand hectares of barley, 20.7 thousand hectares of peas and 1.3 thousand hectares of oats;

Mykolaiv Oblast — 1.5 thousand hectares of wheat, 24.8 thousand hectares of barley, 15.3 thousand hectares of peas and 0.5 thousand hectares of oats;

Kirovohrad Oblast — 4.2 thousand hectares of wheat, 9.7 thousand hectares of barley and 5.8 thousand hectares of peas;

Dnipro Oblast — 3.9 thousand hectares of wheat, 8.65 thousand hectares of barley and 2.83 thousand hectares of peas;

Poltava Oblast — 4.8 thousand hectares of wheat, 18.3 thousand hectares of barley, 0.9 thousand hectares of peas and 1.4 thousand hectares of oats;

Ternopil Oblast — 2.6 thousand hectares of wheat, 10.4 thousand hectares of barley, 1.5 thousand hectares of peas and 1.1 thousand hectares of oats;

Vinnytsia region — 3.3 thousand hectares of wheat, 2.8 thousand hectares of barley and 2.3 thousand hectares of peas.

Also, on the reporting date, the sowing of industrial crops began - the farmers of the Kyiv region began sowing sunflower seeds. As noted in the Kyiv OVA, this year in the region they plan to increase the area under technical crops to 422.3 thousand hectares, which is 6.9 thousand hectares more than last year.
