Thanks to the new platform, farmers can get installment payments for goods without overpayments

In March, the financial company Activitis, with the support of the USAID AGRO Program, launched a new financial product, WEAGRO, which enables small and medium-sized agricultural producers to purchase goods on payment.

Pavlo Matiyash, CEO of the Activitis financial company, told Latifundist.com about this.

Unlike the loan program provided by banks, WEAGRO allows you to implement the installment agreement day by day - without any documents from the farmer.

Pavlo Matiyash explained how it works.

"Initially, suppliers join the WEAGRO platform to be able to offer their goods and services to agricultural producers with deferred payment. Any purchase and sale agreements can be concluded on the platform: both with the possibility of signing with a digital signature, and with the uploading of already signed agreements," explained the CEO of the financial company Activitis.

A total of three participants are involved in the WEAGRO platform: the seller, the farmer and the financial company. All participants have their own offices where agricultural installment agreements are concluded. Installment payment schedules are formed separately in the farmer's office.

If the supplier already uses the WEAGRO option (is authorized on the service), the buyer can purchase the goods on payment, and if not, he can choose those sellers who are already authorized on the platform. It happens that a farmer recommends his supplier to join WEAGRO.

As Pavlo Matiyash explained, the company does not limit who can use the platform's services. But the benchmark is for a farmer with a land plot of up to 1,000 hectares.

"Among those who have already taken advantage of the WEAGRO agro-installment, there are farmers who cultivate approximately 300-500 hectares. These are mostly consolidated plots of land: someone owns the land, but the main part is, of course, rented. Most of our customers grow grains. There are also national-scale farms that have used agricultural installments, and this is very correct on their part, because efficiency is synonymous with the ability to manage your expenses, even if you have your own funds for the immediate purchase of the necessary goods and services," explained the CEO of Activitis.

Pavlo Matiyash also added that all commission costs are paid by the seller.

"Our most important condition is that the farmer does not waste time or additional money when using the WEAGRO service. Everyone should do their job: the farmer should buy, the supplier should sell, and WEAGRO should make this process convenient and profitable," concluded Pavlo Matiyash.
