The European Union is strengthening quality control of agricultural products

The European Commission has made changes to the regulatory documents regarding the quality control of some types of agricultural products, namely meat and edible meat offal (HS code: 02), cereals (HS code: 10).

Commission Regulation (EC) 2024/891 of March 22, 2024 amended Annexes II and V to Regulation (EC) No. 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council regarding the establishment of maximum residue levels for the substance bifenazate in/on certain products.

The document enters into force on October 14, 2024.

The EU Commission also announces the adoption of Delegated Regulation 2024/1141 of December 14, 2023 on amendments to Annexes II and III to Regulation (EC) No. 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council on establishing special hygienic requirements for certain types of meat, fish products, dairy products and eggs.

 

The provisions of the document shall apply from 9 May 2024, with the exception of paragraph (3)(a)(iv)(1) of the Schedule, which will apply from 9 November 2024.
