Thus, in 2022, farmers in the central and western parts of Ukraine faced a problem - corn in the fall had a high yield and high moisture content - up to 35%. Accordingly, it was very expensive to dry such grain in third-party elevators, and it was problematic to collect it due to weather conditions. Therefore, farmers tried to solve this problem, each in their own way.

 

Some practiced deferred collection. Some farmers threshed corn for the 2022 harvest as early as May 2023. Farmers also practiced selling wet grain from the field.
