Currently, the Danube ports remain a stable alternative route for agricultural exports. During the year of the war, it was the ports of Izmail, Reni and Ust-Dunaisk that increased the cargo flow 3 times. More than 17 million tons of goods were exported through the Danube port cluster, and the necessary goods for the needs of Ukraine are also imported through these ports alone.

Agreements on joint work on the improvement of export capacities through the channels of the Danube River were reached at a tripartite meeting between Ukraine - the European Commission - Romania.

In particular, they discussed the issue of joint measurement of the depths of the Danube River, which is related to the operational dredging recently carried out by the Ukrainian side. The Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Yuriy Vaskov noted that at this time operational dredging is not being carried out on the Danube.

In addition, the parties discussed the possibilities of improving navigation. In particular, Ukraine and Romania will work on finding new ways to pilot ships. The parties agreed that this will increase the number of ship calls to the Danube ports.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania summoned the ambassador of Ukraine, Ihor Prokopchuk, in connection with the hydrotechnical works in the Kili estuary of the Danube.

We will remind, in Romania they intend to build a new modern grain terminal in the port of Constanta. Port operator Socep has already started the necessary procedures for this.

Near the border of Hungary with Ukraine, Europe's largest land container terminal has started operations, the purpose of which is to increase the supply of Ukrainian grain through Hungary to the ports of the Adriatic Sea.

At the Chop railway station, a logistics hub with wide and narrow tracks for the transshipment of any agricultural products and processing products has started operating. Types of cargo — bulk, bulk and packaged (big bags and sacks).

The consulting company DB Engineering&Consulting has identified several routes in Europe that are compatible with Ukrainian hopper cars.
